The would you rather.... BOOK TAG!

hellooooo,
So today I'm doing a tag. A book tag ofcourseee. I've seen a lot of book tags come and go and because I started a blog I can share my answers with somebody else than myself.
For my first book tag I choose the tag: Would you rather.
Let's start with the tag!

would you rather.....
1. Read only trilogies or stand-alones?
Trilogies! There are amazing stand-alones, but I find myself enjoying trilogies more than the stand-alone books. In a trilogie you connect more with the characters because you can experience there development and the characters are longer with you, so you care about them more and more in every book.

2. Read only Female or male authors?
This is a hard one. (This tag is actually really hard, why should we ever have to choose between such things. It would be a nightmare!)
I think I'm going with the female authors. When I look at my bookcase I see a lot more female than male authors. Look at the beautiful Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. And what about the Hungergames, Divergent, Fangirl.
basically, yeah females are awesome.

3. Shop at Barnes & Nobles or at Amazon?
I never bought an book at both of these shops. That's because I live in Amsterdam and I just have never used Amazon before. I will look at thins question like if i'd rather shop in a bookstore or online. easypeasy, Bookshops for the win! what is prettier than all those books together waiting for someone to read them. definitely  bookshops.

4. All books become movies or t.v. shows?
I can only answer this question if I'd be sure the movies and tv shows are great. If they were, I would want them to be movies. So we could see them in the cinema.

5. Read 5 pages per day or 5 book per week?
5 pages per day is not even an option. How can you get into a book when you can only read 5 pages per day. Come on, 5 pages, i can't even.. So yeah absolutely 5 book per week. It's a lot, but in this case the best chose.

6. Be a professional reviewer or a professional author?
Now I would say a professional author. But maybe when I'm blogging and reviewing books for a while, I could change my mind.

7. Always read you top 20 over and over again or always read new one you haven't read before?
If you're reading your top 20 books over and over again, someday they aren't going to be your favorite books anymore. Why keep reading the same books if you could find a thousand amazing other books. Right?

8. Be a librarian of a bookseller?
This one is something to think about. The thought of having books that you can lend out to people who can't buy every book in the bookstore, but can lend them from your own library is really nice. That's why I'm going with the library.

9. Only read your favorite genre or every other genre?
This one is the same for me as number 7. Maybe someday your favorite genre isn't going to be your favorite anymore. And there are so many great genres you can choose of.

10 only read physical copies or ebooks?
If i could it would be physical copies. Holding them is nicer than holding an ereader. But unfortunately, money doesn't grow in the trees, ( that's something people say in the Netherlands haha).

Throne of glass by Sarah J. Maas | Review

I recently finished the first book in the throne of glass series and I decided to write my first review about this book.

Summery:

In a land without magic, where the king rules with an iron hand, an assassin is summoned to the castle. She comes not to kill the king, but to win her freedom. If she defeats twenty-three killers, thieves, and warriors in a competition, she is released from prison to serve as the king's champion.

Her name is Celaena Sardothien.

The Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her. But something evil dwells in the castle of glass--and it's there to kill. When her competitors start dying one by one, Celaena's fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival, and a desperate quest to root out the evil before it destroys her world.

my thoughts

Starting this book I had really high expectations. I read and heard a lot about it. I have to say, this book lives up to it's expectations. I really enjoyed the writing style. Overall I liked Throne of glass..I wouldn't say I looooved it, but I am  definitely picking up the second book in the series ( Crown of midnight) :)

Throne of glass was fast paced, but not too fast. It keeps you reading and after every chapter you want to read further. I think the characters are wel developed. Some more than others and I think that was important to keep you interested.
Because of the hype I really hesitated if I wanted too read it. I'm glad I finally did.

The combination of action and romance is really nice in this book. It contains a love triangle, and despite the fact that a lot of people say it doesn't take place in a big part of the book, I think it does. That doesn't mean it bothered me. It was a nice love triangle and it added a nice touch to the book.

If you're hesitating to read it, like I was. Read it. Just read it!

Well hello there!

My name is Elisabeth and I am a 15 year old girl. I live in the Netherlands. Amsterdam to be precise. My whole life I've been reading a lot. Of course with ups and downs, but I always come back to the books.

The whole world reads because it's necessary. It's like eating and breathing. Without reading everything would be a lot more difficult. But that's the whole world. You also have the people who just love to read. Reading is much more for them than just necessary.

I am one of those people. When I read, I find myself in another place without trying it. It just happens. I know almost everybody who loves to read can relate to this. Sometimes the things we read can make us feel like its an escape for a certain time. Not particularly because we want to escape our own life, but be honest, it doesn't matter how nice your situation is, I think everybody would like to inhabit another one.

Not only are books a nice get away, but they also have a meaning. A book is written by someone who wants to tell the readers a story. A story with meaning. I think it's incredible how many people are able to write such amazing books. I hope one day, I could tell my own story to tell, by publishing a book.

I mostly read young adult books. This is just a genre I love. I read al kind of young adult genres ; contemporary, dystopian, fantasy, thrillers etc. When I think a book interests me, I will read it.

This blog is a place where I will review the books I read, recommend books and all sort of related kind of things. Maybe there will be posts about some other things that keep me busy :)

I think this will be a lot of fun! until the next post.

love, Elisabeth
